The International Medical Graduate

International Medical Graduates (IMGs) with Australian recognised formal overseas Plastic Surgery qualifications are essential members of the surgical community and are highly valued in the public healthcare system.

Unaccredited surgical trainee (Registrar) posts are available for selected International Medical Graduates who wish to gain one of the nine specialty qualifications, including plastic surgery.

All International Medical Graduates who would like to practice in Australia should first contact the Australian Medical Council (AMC).

The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) website also contains information on practicing in Australia.
